Termino la reseña de los sitios que he visitado este verano con Frankfurt. París y Londres dejaron el listón bastante alto, así que de las tres ciudades Frankfurt es la que menos me ha llamado la atención. No obstante, tiene sitios muy guays que merecen la pena visitar.
It’s time for Frankfurt. París and London were such amazing places that Frankfurt seems «meh». However, there are some great places worth visiting.
A CITY WITH HISTORY
Frankfurt es una ciudad muy moderna, con un montón de rascacielos y edificios importantes como la sede del Banco Central Europeo o el edificio de la Bolsa, una de las principales bolsas del mundo. Pero también conserva numerosas edificaciones con historia, a pesar de haber sido muy bombardeada durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Destaca la plaza Römeberg, una de las más bonitas que he visto. Aquí se encuentra el ayuntamiento de la cidad o Römer y está rodeada de las tradicionales casitas alemanas y de la Antigua Iglesia de San Nicolás, con su característico tejado puntiagudo.
Frankfurt is a modern city, with a lot of skyscrapers and important buildings as the European Central Bank or the Stock Exchange building, one of the main in the world. Nevertheless, the city has numerous historic constructions despite it was several bombed during WWII.
Stands out the Römeberg square, one of the most beautiful that I’ve never seen before. Here it is the city council or Römer and it’s surrounded by traditional germany houses and the Old St Nicholas Church with its characteristic pointed roof.

THE MAIN RIVER
El río Meno que atraviesa la ciudad es uno de los encantos de Frankfurt. Hay muchos puentes a lo largo de su recorrido y en cada uno de ellos las vistas son diferentes.
The Main river, which crosses the city, is one of Frankfurt charms. There are a lot of bridges and in each of them the sights are different.

De noche la vista es todavía más espectacular porque las luces de los rascacielos se reflejan en el agua.
At night the sight is even more impressive because the lights of the skyscrapers are reflected in the water.

El segundo destino de mis vacaciones fue Londres y, sin duda, fue la ciudad que más me gustó y a la que espero volver en el futuro.
The second place I went was London and it was the city that I enjoyed the most. I hope come back in the future.
MY FAVOURITE PLACES
Todo Londres es genial pero mis dos sitios favoritos fueron Brick Lane y Camden Town. El ambiente underground de ambos sitios, la gente y los mercadillos vintage me fascinaron.
Every place in London is awesome but my favourite places are Brick Lane and Camden Town. I was amazed by the underground atmosphere, the people and the vintage markets.

In Brick Lane we went to a vintage clothes shop where I bought this retro sunglasses for £ 10.
Me encantó ir a ese lugar. Me sentí como Roberta Glass en la tienda de segunda mano buscando la cazadora de Madonna. Si queréis que haga un post hablando sobre lo icónica que es esta película dejádmelo en los comentarios.
I really loved going to that place. I felt like Roberta Glass in the thrift store looking for Madonna’s jacket. If you want me to write a post about how iconic is this film let me know in the comments.
Otro sitio interesante, sobre todo si tienes una parte mística, es el Highgate Cemetery de Londres. Por desgracia, no tuve la oportunidad de entrar pero puedes ver parte de su encanto desde fuera.
Other interesting place, especially if you have a mystical side, is the Highgate Cemetery of London. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance of get in, however you can see a little of its charm from outside.
THE WORST OF LONDON
En general, visitar Londres ha sido una experiencia genial. Sin embargo, hubo algunos detalles que no me entusiasmaron tanto.
In general, London was great. However there was some things in this city that it wasn’t so good.
EL HORARIO –THE OPENING HOURS
Si vas con la idea de hacer turismo por la tarde olvídate. A partir de las 6 todo cierra, incluídos museos, cementerios y cualquier cosa que te puedas imaginar.
If you have the idea of sightseeing at afternoon forget about that. Museums, cemeteries and most of venues are closed after 6 AM.
2. EL METRO –THE UNDERGROUND
El metro me parece un medio de transporte que está muy bien. Es rápido, cómodo y te permite ser testigo de las distintas culturas, etnias y razas que conviven en la capital ¿Lo malo? Que es carísimo. Así que si planeas viajar a Londres con varios amigos mi recomendación es que te desplaces con Uber, resulta más barato.
The underground is a good means of transport. It’s fast, comfortable and allows you to witness the rich culture and the diversity of people who live in the capital. The bad thing is the price, it’s really expensive. If you are planning to visit London with some friends I recomend you to go around the city by Uber, it’s cheaper than the underground.
3. EL HOSTEL – THE HOSTEL
No sé si es que tuvimos mala suerte o qué pero el hostel en el que nos hospedamos podría ser el nuevo set de rodaje de Vis a Vis, Orange Is The New Black o Prison Break ya que las condiciones eran igual de precarias que las de una cárcel.
La cosa ya no empezó con buen pie. Resulta que había estado algo enferma durante el viaje y cuando llegué a Londres me sentía bastante mareada. Así que, durante el check-in mi amiga me dijo que me sentara en un banquito que había allí. Llevaba un rato sentada cuando, de repente, oigo un crujido. Me asusto, miro a mi amiga, miro al recepcionista que me mira, me sonríe y me dice algo como: «no te preocupes, es muy viejo».
La habitación era enana, tenía olor a humedad, la moqueta mojada y allí dentro hacía un calor insufrible, pero eso no fue lo peor. Lo peor fue que nuestra ventana daba a un patio donde había muchos contenedores de basura que estaban plagados de ratas. Las oíamos chillar desde la cama y daba muy mal rollo. Ante esa situación no podíamos dormir con la ventana abierta. La única opción para no asarnos en ese zulo era dejar una rendija de la puerta abierta mientras rezábamos para que nadie entrase a robarnos.
I don’t know if it was bad luck or what but the hostel where we stayed was like the filming set of Vis a Vis, Orange is the New Black or Prison Break. I swear the place was like a jail cell.
Things couldn’t started worse. I had been sick and when I arrived at London I didn’t feel very well. So, my friend told me to sit down while we were doing the check-in. I had been sitting in the bench that was there for a while when suddenly I heard a crack. I freaked out, I looked to my friend, then I looked to the receptionist, the receptionist looked at me smiling and said something like: «don’t worry, it’s very old».
The room was very tiny, it smelled mustiness, the carpet was wet and there was really really hot there (hell’s fire kind of heat) but this is not the worst part. The worst thing was there was rats below our window eating in the restaurants containers. We heard the rats shrieking from our beds and was really creepy. So, we decided that the window must be closed in order to survive the rats attacks. The only option to resist the heat was opened the door a little bit as we prayed that we hadn’t been stolen.
A finales de julio me fui de vacaciones un par de semanas. Estuvo muy bien porque tuve la oportunidad de visitar tres sitios en los que no había estado antes: París, Londres y Frankfurt. Como no quiero que se quede un post demasiado largo, voy a dividirlo por ciudades y empezamos con París.
I went on holiday at the end of July. It was great because I had the chance of visit three new places I’ve never been before: Paris, London and Frankfurt. To make posts shorter I’m going to divide it by cities, so, let’s start with Paris.
FAVORITE PLACES
Nunca creí que la Torre Eiffel me fuera a impresionar tanto como lo hizo. Pensé que sería un monumento más pero la verdad es que me dejó totalmente en shock cuando la vi por primera vez desde la plaza del Trocadero. Es realmente impactante y eso simplemente a la luz del día. Por la noche es todavía más mágica si cabe con el encendido y sus luces titilantes.
Cuando fuimos de noche a verla resulta que había un imitador de Michael Jackson haciendo su show y bailando sus canciones, lo cual fue increíble. París, Torre Eiffel, Michael Jackson y una crepe de Nutella ¿Qué más se puede pedir?
I never thought that Eiffel Tower was a big deal but all changed when I saw it from the Trocadero. It is really impressive and just with the daylight. At night, the picture is even more magical with the twinkling lights.
When I went to see the tower at night there was a Michael Jackson impersonator dancing in the Trocadero and that was amazing. Paris, Eiffel Tower, Michael Jackson and Nutella crepe, what more can a person wish for?
Puede que esta sea la librería más bella del mundo. Es posible que te suene ya que además de tener una larga tradición, sus fotos son muy populares en redes sociales como Tumblr. Por dentro es increíble, está plagada de miles de libros bellamente encuadernados y su decoración vintage la convierte en el paraíso de los ratones de biblioteca como es mi caso. La única pega que le pongo a esta librería es que, por alguna razón, está prohibido sacar fotos del interior.
Me dio mucha pena no haberme comprado ningún libro allí pero había tanta gente y hacía tanto calor que estaba demasiado agobiada como para ponerme a buscar un libro. Tal vez la próxima vez.
Perhaps it is the most beautiful bookstore in the world. This place is very popular because of his large tradition and its pictures became even more popular on social networks as Tumblr. Inside, the place is awesome, it has plenty of cute books and a vintage atmosphere, a truly paradise for bookworms like me. Sadly, isn’t allowed taking photos inside.
It was a pity I didn’t buy anything but the place was so crowded and it was so hot inside that it was impossible to find the book that I wanted. Maybe next time.
Lo que más me impresionó de la visita a Francia fue, sin duda, el Museo del Louvre. Es una experiencia increíble poder observar directamente tanto los restos arqueológicos como las obras de arte que allí se encuentran. Los sarcófagos egipcios, la Victoria de Samotracia o La Balsa de Medusa fueron algunas de las cosas que más me impactaron. Por cierto, para los menores de 26 años la entrada es ¡completamente GRATIS!
The most impressive thing about my trip to Paris was the Louvre Museum. The possibility of watch by myself all the archaeological remains and the artwork exhibited there was an incredible experience. The egyptian antiquities, the winged Victory of Samothrace or The Raft of the Medusa were some of the things that impressed me most. By the way, admission to the museum is completely FREE for those under 26 years of age.
THE OUTFIT
Uno de mis outfits favoritos en París fue este vestido de lunares rojo. Es super bonito y creo que el tipo de corte que tiene favorece a todo el mundo. Tanto el vestido como el bolso son de Rosegal pero lamentablemente están agotados.
One of my favourite outfits in Paris was this polka dot red dress. It’s so beautiful and I think the design is flattering for all kind of bodies. The dress and the bag are from Rosegal, however both are sold out.
El pasado fin de semana fui a Lisboa con motivo de asistir al festival de Eurovisión. Sí soy una fanática de Eurovisión, de hecho incluso tengo una web dedicada a ello, a la que podéis acceder pinchando aquí.
Solo estuve tres días en la capital portuguesa pero fue tiempo suficiente para conocer un poco más esa ciudad y vivir una experiencia increíble, así que creo que es interesante compartirlo con vosotros.
Last weekend I went to Lisbon to attend the Eurovision Song Contest. Yeah I’m a little obsessed with Eurovision, in fact I have a blog about that, that you can visit here.
I only been there 3 days but it was time enough to discover the city and having an amazing experience. So I think it would be interesting share it with you.
EUROVISION
No os podéis imaginar lo que ha sido estar dentro del Altice Arena viendo y escuchando a tantos artistas increíbles de un montón de países diferentes. Además, tuve la oportunidad de poder conocer algunos de ellos. Lo malo es que mi cara en las fotos es un desastre, así que únicamente voy a poner la que mejor salgo que fue con parte del grupo Equinox, los representantes de Bulgaria.
You can’t imagine how great is to be in the Altice Arena watching and listening so many wonderful artists from a lot of different countries. Also, I had the opportunity to meet some of them. Unfortunately, my face in the pictures is horrible, so, I just gonna post the photo with part of Equinox band, the bulgarian representatives.
Uno de los outfits que me puse para ir a Eurovisión fue este precioso vestido de lentejuelas de color rosa dorado que combiné con mi chupa de cuero favorita y un par de zapatillas blancas (indispensable ir cómoda para poder bailar sin parar).
One of the outfits I choose for Eurovision was this wonderful rose gold sequin dress which I matched with my favourite leather jacket and a pair of white sneakers (essential to be comfortable in order to dance non-stop).
LX FACTORY
El último día en Lisboa lo pasamos paseando y disfrutando del ambiente en LX Factory. Se trata de uno de los mercados más vanguardistas de Lisboa en el que podemos encontrar desde tiendas, puestos y restaurantes; todo ello situado en una vieja fábrica. Lo moderno y lo tradicional se une en este lugar plagado de grafittis y edificios de ladrillo.
We spend the last day in Lisbon walking around and enjoying the atmosphere at LX Factory. This is one of the most vanguardist markets in Lisbon where we can find shops, stands and restaurants; all of them placed inside of an old factory. Modern and tradition joins in this place full of grafittis and brick buildings.
Una de las visitas indispensables al pasar por este mercado es entrar en la librería Ler Devagar. Sus estantes repletos de libros hasta el techo la convierten en el paraíso para cualquier lector.
One of the mandatory stops in this market is the book shop Ler Devagar. Its shelves full of books make this place a true paradise for readers.
