Ha llegado el momento de hablar de Barbie y, por supuesto, de sus mejores looks en la pelĆcula. Una de las cosas que mĆ”s me impactĆ³ fue, sin duda, el aspecto visual. AdemĆ”s del diseƱo de producciĆ³n, la ropa que luce Barbie a lo largo de la cinta es increĆble y hoy quiero comentar mis estilismos favoritos.
It’s time to talk about Barbie and her best looks in the movie. Visually, the movie is a wonder thanks to the the outstanding work of production design and also the costume design. The clothes that Barbie wears throughout the film are incredible and today I want to comment on my favorite outfits.

Como persona que crecĆo con series como Los Rompecorazones y Las Gemelas de Sweet Valley, el rollito skater californiano de los 80/90 me fascina. Los colores neĆ³n, los estampados, los accesorios… Todo estĆ” llevado al extremo y me encanta. MĆ”s es mĆ”s.
I grew up with Heartbreak High and Sweet Valley High, so I’m really fond of Californian skater aesthetic from the 80s/90s. The neon colours, the prints, the accessories… everything is shocking and I love it. More is more.
La verdad es que se trata de un vestido muy sencillo en tweed, pero que estĆ” fantĆ”sticamente adornado con los accesorios. El collar de gemas y el bolso Chanel son una autĆ©ntica fantasĆa.
A simple tweed dress with the best accessories though. The stone necklace and the Chanel bag are a truly fantasy.
Mi absoluto favorito es este look de vestido azul marino con cuello que irremediablemente me recuerda a MiĆ©rcoles Addams y tambiĆ©n a Vivienne Westwood. AquĆ tambiĆ©n los accesorios tienen gran importancia: el lacito, los pendientes, las medias y los zapatos Mary Jane, Ā”sin palabras!
My absolute favorite is this look of a navy blue dress with a necklace that inevitably reminds me of Wednesday Addams and also Vivienne Westwood. Accessories are also of great importance here: the bow, the earrings, the stockings and the Mary Jane shoes, no words!
Estos son los 4 looks que mĆ”s me han impactado, aunque, hay muchos otros muy interesantes tambiĆ©n. MenciĆ³n especial al Ken Patriarcado, con su abrigo de pieles, su riƱonera, sus gafas de sol y sus 80 mil relojes. Creo que se ha convertido en un icono instantĆ”neo.
QuerĆa aprovechar tambiĆ©n para recomendar algunas pelĆculas donde las protagonistas son muy ‘Barbie’ y la moda tiene un peso importante dentro de la historia: La chica de rosa (1986), Fuera de onda (1995) y Una rubia muy legal (2001).
These are the looks that have impacted me the most, although there are many other very interesting ones as well. I have to mention Patriarchy Ken, with his fur coat, his fanny pack, his sunglasses and his 80 thousand watches. He has become an instant fashion icon.
Finally, I wanted to recommend some films where the protagonists are very ‘Barbie-coded’ and fashion has an important weight in the story: Pretty in Pink (1986), Clueless (1995) and Legally Blonde (2001).

Desde su estreno, Maestros de la Costura siempre ha sido uno de mis programas favoritos. Al igual que ocurrre con su homĆ³logo de cocina, Masterchef, ha sabido unir a la perfecciĆ³n esa parte de reality show con el arte y la creatividad que, sin duda, estĆ” presente en el Ć”mbito de la moda. AdemĆ”s, nos ha permitido conocer mĆ”s de cerca las increĆbles personalidades de grandes figuras de la costura: Lorenzo Caprile, MarĆa EscotĆ© y Palomo Spain.
Otro de los factores clave de este formato es la presentadora. A lo largo de todas estas temporadas, hemos visto a Raquel SĆ”nchez-Silva lucir diferentes creaciones y he pensado que serĆa entretenido hacer un repaso de las mĆ”s interesantes. Para que no se haga muy largo, he decidido dividirlo en dos partes. Hoy, los mejores looks de las temporadas 1 y 2.
I’m a huge fan of a Spanish reality show about fashion designers called ‘Maestros de la Costura‘. In each episode, the host, Raquel SĆ”nchez-Silva, wears different fashion creations and I thought that it will be interesting to review the best ones. Todo Londres es genial pero mis dos sitios favoritos fueron Brick Lane y Camden Town. El ambiente underground de ambos sitios, la gente y los mercadillos vintage me fascinaron.
Every place in London is awesome but my favourite places are Brick Lane and Camden Town. I was amazed by the underground atmosphere, the people and the vintage markets.

Otro sitio interesante, sobre todo si tienes una parte mĆstica, es el Highgate Cemetery de Londres. Por desgracia, no tuve la oportunidad de entrar pero puedes ver parte de su encanto desde fuera.
Other interesting place, especially if you have a mystical side, is the Highgate Cemetery of London. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance of get in, however you can see a little of its charm from outside.
En general, visitar Londres ha sido una experiencia genial. Sin embargo, hubo algunos detalles que no me entusiasmaron tanto.

Si vas con la idea de hacer turismo por la tarde olvĆdate. A partir de las 6 todo cierra, incluĆdos museos, cementerios y cualquier cosa que te puedas imaginar.
If you have the idea of sightseeing at afternoon forget about that. Museums, cemeteries and most of venues are closed after 6 AM.
El metro me parece un medio de transporte que estĆ” muy bien. Es rĆ”pido, cĆ³modo y te permite ser testigo de las distintas culturas, etnias y razas que conviven en la capital ĀæLo malo? Que es carĆsimo. AsĆ que si planeas viajar a Londres con varios amigos mi recomendaciĆ³n es que te desplaces con Uber, resulta mĆ”s barato.
The underground is a good means of transport. It’s fast, comfortable and allows you to witness the rich culture and the diversity of people who live in the capital. The bad thing is the price, it’s really expensive. If you are planning to visit London with some friends I recomend you to go around the city by Uber, it’s cheaper than the underground.
No sĆ© si es que tuvimos mala suerte o quĆ© pero el hostel en el que nos hospedamos podrĆa ser el nuevo set de rodaje de Vis a Vis, Orange Is The New Black o Prison Break ya que las condiciones eran igual de precarias que las de una cĆ”rcel.
La cosa ya no empezĆ³ con buen pie. Resulta que habĆa estado algo enferma durante el viaje y cuando lleguĆ© a Londres me sentĆa bastante mareada. AsĆ que, durante el check-in mi amiga me dijo que me sentara en un banquito que habĆa allĆ.Ā Llevaba un rato sentada cuando, de repente, oigo un crujido. Me asusto, miro a mi amiga, miro al recepcionista que me mira, me sonrĆe y me dice algo como: Ā«no te preocupes, es muy viejoĀ».
La habitaciĆ³n era enana, tenĆa olor a humedad, la moqueta mojada y allĆ dentro hacĆa un calor insufrible, pero eso no fue lo peor. Lo peor fue que nuestra ventana daba a un patio donde habĆa muchos contenedores de basura que estaban plagados de ratas. Las oĆamos chillar desde la cama y daba muy mal rollo. Ante esa situaciĆ³n no podĆamos dormir con la ventana abierta. La Ćŗnica opciĆ³n para no asarnos en ese zulo era dejar una rendija de la puerta abierta mientras rezĆ”bamos para que nadie entrase a robarnos.
I don’t know if it was bad luck or what but the hostel where we stayed was like the filming set of Vis a Vis, Orange is the New Black or Prison Break. I swear the place was like a jail cell.
Things couldn’t started worse. I had been sick and when I arrived at London I didn’t feel very well. So, my friend told me to sit down while we were doing the check-in. I had been sitting in the bench that was there for a while when suddenly I heard a crack. I freaked out, I looked to my friend, then I looked to the receptionist, the receptionist looked at me smiling and said something like: Ā«don’t worry, it’s very oldĀ».
The room was very tiny, it smelled mustiness, the carpet was wet and there was really really hot there (hell’s fire kind of heat) but this is not the worst part. The worst thing was there was rats below our window eating in the restaurants containers. We heard the rats shrieking from our beds and was really creepy.Ā So, we decided that the window must be closed in order to survive the rats attacks. The only option to resist the heat was opened the door a little bit as we prayed that we hadn’t been stolen.
