Muchas veces nos apetece dibujar, pintar y hacer ese tipo de cosas artísticas aunque no seamos muy mañosos (como es mi caso) pero nos encontramos con que no sabemos por dónde empezar. Así que aquí tenéis una pequeña guía de las cosas que a mi me ayudan a conectar con mi parte artística.

Sometimes we feel like to paint, to draw or to do that kind of artistic activities even though we are not really good at it (like me), but, how to start? So this is a little guide about the things that help me to connect with my artistic side.

STEP 1: MUSIC

Amo la música así que siempre es un buen momento para ponerse a escucharla. Además, la música está muy relacionada con las emociones al igual que el arte. Escuchar tu playlist favorita activa tu cerebro y te pone de buen humor. Por si os interesa, os dejo my lista de reproducción con todas las canciones de la serie Buffy Cazavampiros que tienen esas vibes oscuras noventeras que me encantan.

I love music and everytime is a good moment to listening it. Music is related with emotions and so do art. Listening to your favourite playlist activates your brain and it cheers you up. Here you have mi playlist based on songs from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, it has those dark 90’s vibes that I love.

STEP 2: RESEARCH

Tenemos la suerte de tener una herramienta tan poderosa como lo es Internet al alcance de nuestra mano, así que es interesante aprovecharla para buscar imágenes que puedan servirnos de inspiración. Sitios como Tumblr, Pinterest o WeHeartit o simplemente realizar una búsqueda en Google pueden estimular nuestra imaginación.

Fortunately, we have, within hand’s reach, a powerful tool such as Internet. So, it is interesting using it to search pictures that inspires us. Websites like Tumblr, Pinterest, WeHeartit or simple making a research on Google can stimulate our imagination.

STEP 3: LET’S DO IT

Ahora que ya tenemos las ideas es momento de pasar a la acción e intentar plasmarlas en el papel. Puede ser un proceso largo y en el que no nos guste lo que estamos haciendo pero lo bueno es que podemos borrar o deshechar el dibujo y empezar de nuevo, tantas veces como lo necesitemos. Y tampoco tiene que ser la obra de nuestra vida, se trata de pasarlo bien.

Now, we have the ideas, it’s time to put them on paper. It can be a long process but if we don’t like what we are doing we will start again over and over, as we need it. Moreover, it has not to be a master piece, it’s all about having fun meanwhile.

STEP 4: PASAR A LIMPIO

Una vez tengamos el boceto de nuestro dibujo hecho, podemos proceder a pasarlo a limpio, ya sea con bolígrafo negro o rotulador.

Once we have our sketch, we have to clean it. Rework the lines with a pen or a marker.

STEP 5: COLOR

Personalmente, me encanta pintar con acuarelas, creo que puedes hacer cosas muy chulis sin tener casi ni idea. Pero hay infinidad de materiales con los que poder colorear nuestro dibujo: ceras, pintura acrílica, lápices de colores, rotuladores, etc. Y lo mejor es que podemos combinar varias técnicas y experimentar. En este caso, yo combiné las ceras con las acuarelas.

Personally, I prefer to paint with watercolors. I think is the best way to reach a good result even if you have no idea like me. However, there are a plenty of materials we can use to paint our drawing: crayons, markers, color pencils, acrilic paint, etc. The best part is we can combine different types and experiment with color. In this case, I combined crayons with watercolors.

STEP 6: FINISH OUR ARTWORK

Cuando la pintura esté seca podremos proceder a dar los acabados finales. Y ya está, nuestra pieza de arte está acabada. Si nos gusta mucho el resultado podemos pensar en ponerla en un marco y colgarla de la pared.

When the paint is dry we can add the final details. And this is it, our artwork is finished. If we really like the result we can put it in a frame and hang it on the wall.

Creo que este mes me he vuelto demasiado loca con las compras. Como he comprado bastantes cositas, me ha apetecido hacer aquí un haul por si os sirve de inspiración.

This month I went crazy with purchases. As I bought a plenty of things, I thought it was interesting to make a haul, so you can get some ideas or get inspired.

BISUTERÍA Y COMPLEMENTOS

He de decir que la mayoría de cosas que he comprado son de AliExpress, así que es todo muuuy barato. Recientemente he descubierto la sección de pines. Es increíble la cantidad y la variedad de pines que hay, sobre todo de temática witchy. Al final me decanté por estos cuatro. Tienen muy buena calidad y quedan preciosos.

JEWELRY AND ACCESORIES

I must say that most things are from AliExpress, so they are really cheap. Recently, I discovered the pins section. It’s amazing the amount and variety of pins on AliExpress. Finally I chose this four witchy pins that I really love. Also, they have really good quality.

Me pedí también unos aros en color dorado. Tenía ganas de unos así más pequeños y, la verdad, es que estos son perfectos.

I also bought a golden earrings. I wanted a pair of little rings and these seems to be perfect.

Si habéis visto mi wishlist de marzo, sabréis que quería una mochila así y pude encontrar una exactemente igual en AliExpress a muy buen precio. No puedo estar más contenta con esta mochila.

If you saw my March wish list you already know that I wanted a backpack like this, and, fortunately, I found it on AliExpress a really good price. I couldn’t be happier with my new backpack.

ROPA

En el apartado de ropa empezamos con estos pantalones que había visto en Zara, pero estaban agotados. Lo mejor es que encontré unos iguales en el mercadillo y por solo 15 €. Están totalemente fuera de mi zona de confort pero me encantan y creo que quedan muy bien.

CLOTHES

Let’s start with these trousers that I saw in Zara time ago, but they were sold out. The best part is that I found the same trousers in the street market and for only 15 euros. This garment is totally out of my comfort zone, but I love it and I think it fits really well.

Creo que AliExpress es el mejor sitio para comprar camisetas básicas con diseños originales y prueba de ello son las tres que me he pillado este mes.

Hace tiempo había visto este diseño por internet y me fascinó. Un día ojeando AliExpress lo encontré así que fue directo a mi lista de deseos, donde me olvidé un poco de él. Este mes estuve haciendo limpieza en ese apartado y cuando vi esta camiseta no me pude creer que no me la hubiera pedido ya.

AliExpress is one of my favourite websites to find basic t-shirts with original designs. This time I picked up three.

I saw this design on Internet time ago and I loved it. Later, browsing on AliExpress I found it and it went directly to my wish list. I totally forgot this t-shirt until I saw it again while I was cleaning up my wish list.

Últimamante he estado super enganchada a la serie de Buffy Cazavampiros, así que no me pude resistir a echar un ojo a las camisetas de AliExpress con esta temática y ¡Sorpresa! Hay un montón de diseños super guays, así que no me pude resistir a comprarme dos.

Define obsesión: comprarte una camiseta con la imagen de tu crush en la serie. Amo a Spike y esta camiseta es genial. Blanco, rojo y negro, colores que combinan con casi todo. De momento solo me la he puesto con unos mom jeans y la chupa de cuero y me fascina esa combinación.

Lately, I’ve been hooked to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so I spent most of my time looking for Buffy t-shirts on AliExpress. And do you know what? There are a lot of cool t-shirts from this tv show.

Define obsession: buying a t-shirt with the picture of your crush on it. I love Spike and this t-shirt as well. White, red and black, these colours go with everything. I’ve already worn this once, with mom jeans and a leather jacket, such an amazing outfit.

La verdad es que no estoy muy contenta con la siguiente camiseta. Creo que la calidad de la tela y de la impresión es mala. Por otra parte, en la foto parecía que las letras era de color rosa, y en realidad son de un tono más violeta.

I’m not really happy with this purchase. I think the quality of the fabric and the print is bad. Moreover, in the picture the letters seems to be pink when in reality they are more violet.
