WEST COAST
El pasado domingo visité O Grove, un pueblo increíble de la costa gallega. Hacía muchísimo calor, así que fue refrescante darse una vuelta por el paseo marítimo de la zona y disfrutar de las increíbles vistas.
Last Sunday I went to O Grove, a wonderful place in the galician west coast. It was a hot day, so I really enjoyed walking around the promenade with the fresh breeze and the incredible sights.
Hace poco que me había comprado estos tenis con plataforma que me fascinan y me hacen parecer Mel C, así que pensé que sería genial poder estrenarlos ese día. Los combiné con los jeggings rotos con medias de red debajo y mi camiseta favorita que ya os había enseñado en un post anterior. Realmente puedes darle un cambio total a una camiseta de chico simplemente enrollando las mangas y haciendo un nudo. Completé el outfit con esta bomber bicolor que me encanta y que tengo desde enero creo, pero que aún no había podido usar porque es muy finita.

Not long ago I’ve bought this pair of platform sneakers. I really love them, I feel like Mel C. So, I thought that it would be a good idea wear my new babies. I matched them with this pair of jeggings that it has fishnet tights under it and of course my favorite t-shirt that I showed you in the last posts. You can change completely how a man’s t-shirt looks like just rolling up the sleeves and making a knot. I completed the outfit with this bicolor bomber that I like so much but unfortunately I couldn’t wear untill now because the fabric is really thin.

HOW TO GET INSPIRED
Muchas veces nos apetece dibujar, pintar y hacer ese tipo de cosas artísticas aunque no seamos muy mañosos (como es mi caso) pero nos encontramos con que no sabemos por dónde empezar. Así que aquí tenéis una pequeña guía de las cosas que a mi me ayudan a conectar con mi parte artística.
Sometimes we feel like to paint, to draw or to do that kind of artistic activities even though we are not really good at it (like me), but, how to start? So this is a little guide about the things that help me to connect with my artistic side.
STEP 1: MUSIC
Amo la música así que siempre es un buen momento para ponerse a escucharla. Además, la música está muy relacionada con las emociones al igual que el arte. Escuchar tu playlist favorita activa tu cerebro y te pone de buen humor. Por si os interesa, os dejo my lista de reproducción con todas las canciones de la serie Buffy Cazavampiros que tienen esas vibes oscuras noventeras que me encantan.
I love music and everytime is a good moment to listening it. Music is related with emotions and so do art. Listening to your favourite playlist activates your brain and it cheers you up. Here you have mi playlist based on songs from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, it has those dark 90’s vibes that I love.
STEP 2: RESEARCH
Tenemos la suerte de tener una herramienta tan poderosa como lo es Internet al alcance de nuestra mano, así que es interesante aprovecharla para buscar imágenes que puedan servirnos de inspiración. Sitios como Tumblr, Pinterest o WeHeartit o simplemente realizar una búsqueda en Google pueden estimular nuestra imaginación.
Fortunately, we have, within hand’s reach, a powerful tool such as Internet. So, it is interesting using it to search pictures that inspires us. Websites like Tumblr, Pinterest, WeHeartit or simple making a research on Google can stimulate our imagination.
STEP 3: LET’S DO IT
Ahora que ya tenemos las ideas es momento de pasar a la acción e intentar plasmarlas en el papel. Puede ser un proceso largo y en el que no nos guste lo que estamos haciendo pero lo bueno es que podemos borrar o deshechar el dibujo y empezar de nuevo, tantas veces como lo necesitemos. Y tampoco tiene que ser la obra de nuestra vida, se trata de pasarlo bien.
Now, we have the ideas, it’s time to put them on paper. It can be a long process but if we don’t like what we are doing we will start again over and over, as we need it. Moreover, it has not to be a master piece, it’s all about having fun meanwhile.
STEP 4: PASAR A LIMPIO
Una vez tengamos el boceto de nuestro dibujo hecho, podemos proceder a pasarlo a limpio, ya sea con bolígrafo negro o rotulador.
Once we have our sketch, we have to clean it. Rework the lines with a pen or a marker.
STEP 5: COLOR
Personalmente, me encanta pintar con acuarelas, creo que puedes hacer cosas muy chulis sin tener casi ni idea. Pero hay infinidad de materiales con los que poder colorear nuestro dibujo: ceras, pintura acrílica, lápices de colores, rotuladores, etc. Y lo mejor es que podemos combinar varias técnicas y experimentar. En este caso, yo combiné las ceras con las acuarelas.
Personally, I prefer to paint with watercolors. I think is the best way to reach a good result even if you have no idea like me. However, there are a plenty of materials we can use to paint our drawing: crayons, markers, color pencils, acrilic paint, etc. The best part is we can combine different types and experiment with color. In this case, I combined crayons with watercolors.
STEP 6: FINISH OUR ARTWORK
Cuando la pintura esté seca podremos proceder a dar los acabados finales. Y ya está, nuestra pieza de arte está acabada. Si nos gusta mucho el resultado podemos pensar en ponerla en un marco y colgarla de la pared.
When the paint is dry we can add the final details. And this is it, our artwork is finished. If we really like the result we can put it in a frame and hang it on the wall.

Últimamente he estado viendo que se ha puesto de moda usar bolsos cada vez más originales y, personalmente, es algo que me encanta. Creo que es una estupenda forma de darle un toque diferente a cualquier outfit, por más simple que este sea.

VIVIAN’S WARDROBE
¿Quién no ha visto esta película al menos una vez en su vida?, y ¡Qué decir de su mítica escena en la que Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts) arrasa con todas las tiendas de Rodeo Drive! Sin duda el sueño de todo amante de la moda.
En esta película, la moda juega un papel muy importante, dejándonos estilismos míticos en la historia del cine como el precioso vestido rojo que la protagonista lleva para ir a la ópera. Podríamos estar hablando largo y tendido sobre cada prenda que se pone Julia Roberts en esta película, pero tampoco es plan, así que comentaré sólo un par de looks que considero que son perfectos.
Everybody have seen this film at least once in their lifetime. And what about the iconic scene when Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts) goes shopping on Rodeo Drive! A dream come true for fashion victims.
In this film, fashion has a special role, in fact, Pretty Woman has some of most iconic outfits of films of all time, such as the beautiful red dress that she uses to go to the opera. We could talk at length about every single piece that Julia wears in this film, but I’ll just comment the outfits that I consider perfect.
En primer lugar, está el “uniforme” de prostituta que lleva Vivian en las primeras escenas de la película, y que consta de un ceñido vestido compuesto por un top blanco y una mini falda azul unidos mediante unas anillas. Completa el estilismo con unas interminables botas negras de tacón de aguja y con un montón de pulseras en una de sus muñecas.
Me parece un look noventero divertido y muy original por el detalle de las anillas. Puede que para algunas personas las botas puedan resultar un poco excesivas, pero ya hemos visto durante las últimas temporadas como este tipo de calzado ha estado arrasando.
In first place, there is this prostitute «uniform» that Vivian wears at the beginning of the film. It is a bodycon dress with a white top and a blue skirt linked by two hoops. She completes the look with a pair of high black boots and a plenty of bracelets in one of her wrists.
I think it’s a startling and original 90’s outfit because of the hoops detail. Some people might dislike the boots, however, we’ve seen this kind of shoes last seasons as a heavy trend.
Si eres de los que no les gustan las botas, no te preocupes, hay un outfit B. Cuando Vivian decide ir de compras con Richard Gere, cambia las botas por unos stilettos, y camufla un poco su atrevido estilo con una camisa blanca masculina. Aunque la esencia del look sigue siendo la misma, estos pequeños cambios refinan el conjunto y lo hacen menos vulgar.
If you don’t like the boots, don’t worry, there is an outfit B. When Vivian goes shopping with Richard Gere, she changes the boots for a pair of stilettos, and covers her bold dress with a masculine shirt. The essence of the outfit is the same, but this little changes refine the look and she seems less tacky.
El otro atuendo del que quiero hablar es este vestido blanco con botones que se compra en Rodeo Drive y que es como la antítesis de su «uniforme». Viéndolo con la perspectiva actual podemos pensar que está algo desfasado, pero para mí es pura elegancia y el estilo.
Además, le encuentro cierto parecido con otro conocido vestido del cine. El que llevaba Rose Dewitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), casualmente otra pelirroja, al embarcar en el Titanic. Que ambos sean claros, tengan el detalle de los botones, así como la pamela y los guantes contribuyen al parecido.
The other outfit I want to talk is this white dress with buttons that she buys on Rodeo Drive and it is totally the opposite to her «uniform». Looking at this dress with the perspective of nowadays maybe it looks a little old fashioned but to me it’s pure elegance and style.
Moreover, I find similarity with other iconic dress in films history. That one that Rose Dewitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), yeah, another redhead, uses to go on board of the Titanic. The light color, the buttons and the pamela and gloves helps with the resemblance.
